Chacksfield plays the strings in contrast with the brass very well. "Victory at Sea" was missing the Navy. Album: "THE NEW LIMELIGHT" This is a very nice mixture of styles - classical with touches of light jazz. There's a very fine trombone solo in "The Man That Got Away." His treatment of /5(79).

Jan 01,  · There are 2 new CDs of Polygram, one this of Mr. Chacksfield, a wonderful orchestra with 2 LPs. 1 is inedit "Limelight", for the first time in CD. The other CD of Polygram is of Ronnie Aldrich, too 2 on 1. Both CDs are excellents! The sound is 5 stars for the 2 CDs. The 4 LPs represents the golden years of the big orchestras and Decca/London/5(85).

Frank Sinatra's final TV special, 's The Man and His Music: With the Count Basie Orchestra features 15 standards and new classics such as "Pennies From Heaven," "I Get a Kick Out of You," and "The One I Love Belongs to Someone Else." Though the title suggests that Count Basie and his orchestra support Sinatra for the whole program, they appear on just a few songs, which is somewhat.
